Prairie Jewels is a celebration of Iowa's county court houses in the form of a unique book photographed by David Richmond and writer Michael Adams. It is filled with striking panoramic images of Iowa's county court houses and their surrounding communities, wonderful narrative incorporating large chunks of history, agricultural detail, journalism, and person observation accompany each image. Richmond and Adams traveled to all of Iowa's 99 counties to photograph and tell a story of each of the state's 100 county court houses. Among the Romanesque, Beaux Arts, Victorian Prairie and contemporary building, they are encountered the found art tales of community pride, integrity, gravitas and whimsy.
